High-Angle Rescue Training

Carried out on a case-by-case basis, totally customised to the needs of the specific client

The fundamentals of rescue operations in both heights and confined spaces are critical for ensuring the safety and efficiency of any emergency response. Successful outcomes hinge on three primary objectives: safe descent, safe ascent, and efficient extraction.

When dealing with a patient at height, it is essential to devise a plan that prioritises their safety, while minimizing risks to responders. Utilise appropriate gear—whether it’s harnesses, ropes, and rescue systems—that you trust and have trained with. Remember, time is of the essence. The quicker you can get the patient to a secure area, the better their chances of recovery.

In scenarios where body recovery becomes unavoidable, such as when an operator has suffered and succumb to a medical emergency, the approach must remain professional and respectful. Ensure that all team members are briefed on protocol and emotional support for one another, and proceed with the utmost sensitivity.

Training for these situations cannot be emphasised enough. When your team is led by current industry professionals with firsthand experience, they gain insights that textbooks simply can’t provide. Equip your team with the knowledge and skills they need to handle these tough situations, and always ensure your rescue equipment meets the highest safety standards. The stakes are high, but with the right preparation, your team can be ready to face any challenge.

If this training is not enough, then the next logical level is conducting the first stage of Industrial Rope Access. This is a multi-level training qualification, conducted over three stages (entry level, intermediate and advanced). The first stage of this is a full week course for your entry level certificate.
