  • 17590 -Issue Worksite Specific Work Permits

Our Permit-to-Work course covers all the main types of work permits found on industrial sites:

  • Confined Space

  • Isolation of Plant

  • Isolation of essential services (water or power)

  • Removal of Guarding

  • Structural penetration (poly-panel penetration)

Not all these permits are found on all industrial sites, but a working knowledge of them is essential to a trainees understanding of what other permits are found at other sites around New Zealand.

Although many of the attendees of this training may not be a permit issuer (and may never be), it is essential that both parties (receiver and issuer) understand each other’s responsibilities under the Permit-to-Work system, and to this end, we conduct issuer and receiver training as one course

Risk Assessment

This course can be added to, with the addition of an extra day to cover unit standard 30265 -Apply Health and Safety Risk Assessment to a Job Role. The addition of this unit adds and extra day to the training.

Risk Assessment training is now becoming a common request for many clients, as more and more sites are asking for workers to be competent in completing a JSA (Job Safety Analysis), or SSSP (Site Specific Safety Plan) (or similar risk assessment documents) before entering their site.

This course is provided through a contracting arrangement between the primary contract holder, Pacific Coast Technical Institute (PCTI), and it’s sub-contractor, Elite Training Services Limited. Working with PCTI, we developed an NZQA approved training scheme (NZQA Ref C30684) for Permit-to-Work
